Duopa Treatment for PD
Duopa is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of motor fluctuations in advanced Parkinson’s disease
Duopa, however, is not a pill
Duopa is a gel form medication, called a suspension, of continuous carbidopa and levodopa to alleviate your symptoms of PD.
Duopa is delivered by a pump placed in the abdomen to allow direct access to your intestines for dosing.
Selkirk Neurology collaborates with an interventional radiology team to place tubing and begin treatment, with all medication adjustments and quality continuity of care managed by your provider and our clinic staff
Duopa treatment can provide continuous dopamine stimulation; producing more normal movement and significantly decreasing the frequency of your need for oral medication.
